KATARINA JAZBEC

* 1991, Kranj, Slovenia

I am a documentary photographer who works with still and moving image. My practice is based on a long-term exploration of empathic and critical storytelling, which takes the relationship between fiction and reality as a starting point. My narratives are visual contemplations on the questions of ethics, freedom, social inequality and illness from different perspectives and ways of knowing. As a maker, I hope to engage, stimulate and empower the viewers, the subjects and myself in an empathic, imaginative and self-reflective way.
